It all started at a local hillclimb, called the Eggbergrennen in Bad
Säckingen in the very south of germany in 1970. But it got really going
two years later: Absolutely aware of what effect this could have on a
young lad aged barely ten, his dad took him and his brother to
Hockenheim at the end of 1972. The turbo Porsches were there, it was
said… the race was called the „Preis von Baden Württemberg“, last
heat of this years`Interseries championship - big V8 McLarens, Lolas,
Ferraris, the whole lot…
And that was it
Swiss motorsport expert and luminary Peter Dätwyler offered him his
1965 FormCar Formula V car to take part in the Eggbergrennen
hillclimb. That was so much fun that he repeated it one year later and
it even led to buying a wrecked Veemax Formula V. The car was
restored by friend Kalle Reuter and finished in time for the maiden
outing at the Altbüron hillclimb in switzerland in 2011. TSS did it „for
love of the sport“! Also, there was a drive in a proper F1 car in France
and several outings in the passenger seat with real pro`s - see the
photos in the drivers gallery.
The TSS was addicted to modelling right from his early school days.
He has watched his dad building airplane and racing car kits and
wanted to do the same. Sometimes it became excessive and he had
to sell some of them because simply there was no space anymore to
display all the cars properly. Today the collection counts more than
sixty 1/12th scale cars, but also he is big into 1/43rd Land Speed
Record cars and Ferrari F1`s.
Yes, you think you`ve seen it all, but there are some more things, the
TSS wants to show you:

The TopSpeedSniffer is motorsport enthusiast and part time artist
Jo Klausmann. Travelling all over the planet to enjoy all sorts of
motorsports since the seventies, he wants to show you what is
worth travelling for and where you can find the interesting
people and locations connected to speed. Take an inside look to a
more personal side of the man and see what makes him tick. He
came around quite a bit, so here are his scrapbooks.
